The Foundational Why of the Project S.C.A.L.E.® Learning Lab

Welcome to the Learning Lab.

This is an extension of Project S.C.A.L.E.® Solutions' broader mission: to equip leaders to think and act with greater precision, improving the experiences of those they lead and the longevity of the organizations they serve.

It’s critical for leaders to understand that they affect more than their daily quotas and quarterly agendas. A significant portion of an employee’s life will be spent at work dealing with a manager, their decisions, and the environments they create. Despite much popular rhetoric about toxic bosses and untrained managers, many of the leadership mishaps we see daily stem not from malevolence but from mindlessness. And if being mindful is one of the only things you take away from anything Project S.C.A.L.E.® Solutions delivers, be it coaching, consulting, training, my assessment work, or just the learning lab itself, you will position yourself to be a leader who doesn’t spike your employees' cortisol levels.

That said, you won’t find puffed-up, ethereal motivational jargon in this learning lab. I don’t know if you can live your dreams. I don’t know if you’ll unlock your true potential. I don’t know if your team will be unstoppable. Those are great marketing buzzwords, but I’m not a marketer. I’m an executive coach, trainer, and leader who learns every day, just like you. Sometimes we learn the easy way, sometimes the hard way, but we’re all learning together. This learning lab will include what I’ve learned, what I’m learning, and, hopefully, what will make your learning less painful than some of what I’ve had to learn.

I can't promise you'll find all of the answers here, but I hope you leave here with better questions, sharper judgment, and a better grid for how your leadership affects those around you.
