About Samuel Gozo
I'm Sam, and I can't think of a better way to introduce myself than to blame my family.
I say that because this whole coaching stint is actually my uncle's fault. He was the one who told me in 2013 that I would be great at it. At that time, I didn't know what coaching was, nor did I honestly care. Consequently, those words didn't resonate with me until early 2016, when I reflected on my first couple of years in personal training. Between making my clients hate me for all the burpees I made them do, I was invited into their worlds as they shared the deeper reasons for wanting a better body. 10 years, three business concepts, a 3-month stint of homelessness, several elevator pitches, and countless lessons later, Project S.C.A.L.E.® Solutions would be what it is today.

Where the framework came from
In 2021, I was working with a leader who was part of an organization where nearly every promoted rep had the word "leader" somewhere in their title. The word had become decorative to the point where "leader" was devoid of principle. As a result, there were plenty of people who genuinely wanted to do right by the organization held back by a culture built on hype instead of sustainability. High turnover. Quiet attrition. Jaded people doing their best inside a system that kept telling them to be successful without ever building anything sustainable.
In my math, Success − Sustainability = One-Hit Wonder = Exhaustion and Frustration
I sat with that and asked, "What did these people actually need?" It was clear the answer wasn't another motivational push or keynote.
I said out loud, "These people here need these five things…"
That was the beginning of Project S.C.A.L.E.®, the framework from my coaching, consulting, training, and assessment work that has been tested by and evolved through the work of countless leaders over the last five years.

My Credentials
This framework earned me an Excellence Award from Western Governors University, where I completed my Master of Science in Management and Leadership. I'm also an ICF credential holder, certified and trained in a number of coaching modalities (ICF- and non-ICF-accredited alike), and am an instructor at another ICF-accredited institute, where I have trained and certified over 2500 coaches to date. I reside in Central Texas with my wife, where I enjoy playing games, nerding out on business and leadership studies, and avidly keeping up with my favorite TV show, The Rookie.
